This week has been an unusually busy middle of January for us, now with the launch of heateasy.co.uk we are talking to more and more people very day about using our units as heaters for their homes. People are slowly starting to warm to the idea of using heat pumps in their homes as a primary source of heating, thanks mostly to the RHI payments launched by the government last year. Also now all of the buzz around solar panels has died down, with the feed in tariffs being cut in half, people are looking at more ways to heat their homes – especially cost effective ways, making the air source heat pump option the most viable.

In other news, we had a meeting with Gledhill Cylinders earlier in the week who provide a range of hot water cylinders specifically made for use with heat pump units, these heat pump cylinders have a longer heat exchange coil inside them, meaning heat transfer to your hot water is at a far faster rate than from a standard hot water cylinder, this faster rate is needed because of the lower temperatures that a heat pump works at. We are also listing their range of stainless buffer tanks and also their range of copper vented thermal stores, to be used with multi-fuel burners and wood stoves where the heat being passed into the hot water is unregulated. Click here if you want to take a look at our range of Stainless Heat Pump Hot Water Cylinders

Hope everyone has a good weekend, it looks like its going to be a bit of a mixed bag weather wise across the country, but mostly cloudy and a bit cold!

We are back in the office as of today (well i had a brief stint in yesterday, before realising i wasn’t supposed to be back until today) As always after our Christmas break we came back in to about 500 e-mails each, after sifting through all of the spam we got through to a good share of e-mails asking for a lot of advice on heat pumps (including 2 on Christmas Day), plus a busy day back on the phone is making this year look encouraging already.

I haven’t got a lot of time to write a full article about anything new, other than 2012 is looking to be a storming year for us. There are big plans in the pipeline, and with the RHPP and RHI schemes coming into full swing this year we are all excited about 2012 being the start of very big things! Keep watching the blog and the website for continual updates on new and exciting products, training courses and other ideas which will be of interest to you.

We all hope you had a very good Christmas and this year will be a prosperous time.

Our normally quite quiet period of the year has been rather hectic over the past couple of months, people are getting into the mindset of air source heating and warming to it (excuse the pun) quite nicely. This is of course though the most expensive time of year for most families in the UK, unless you’re a bit of a scrooge like me (Christmas decorations will go up on the 24th and come down on the 25th, I’m giving everyone Euro’s this year, far cheaper than a lump of coal)

Everyone is on the lookout to try and save some money. One of our air source heat pumps are ideal for people looking to save money, unfortunately this does mean a bit of an initial outlay – help is at hand however in the form of the governments Renewable Heating Payment Scheme. They are willing to give a grant of £850 to anyone who installs an air source heating system before the start of May 2012, the only condition is that you have to use an MCS approved air source heat pump system. Luckily enough MCS approval has been granted to both our ranges of air to water heat pumps, both the

And the
EKO-Warrior Split System Air To Water Heat Pump System

Qualify for the Renewable Heating Premium Payment Scheme when installed by an approved MCS installer, and we have something in the works to help provide you with a Cooleasy approved engineer as well. If you visit the DECC website then they will be able to point you in the right direction of where to go for filling out all of the forms to get the approval and get the grant. Not only can you help save the planet but you can also now save money while your doing it!

Running alongside the launch of our new heating website we have gotten the go ahead to announce that Trianco have received MCS approval for their Activair air to water heat pumps, which is great news for anyone looking for a renewable form of heating in their home, especially as the feed in tarriffs for solar were just cut in half (Not really a suprise though, was it) The MCS approval will get the units to qualify for the RHPP incentive, which will give a voucher of up to £850 (subject to t&c’s) to help cover the cost of the installation of a MCS approved heat pump, now thats not going to go down once you have got it. Also if you hold out much hope, the RHI scheme is supposed to start before the end of 2012, which is similar to the feed-in tarriffs, giving a helping hand to the cost of installing a heat pump system.

In addition to this news, we have also launched the EKO-Warrior Split system heat pump, which is also MCS approved. Both of these products can be seen in the Air To Water Heat Pumps section of the Heateasy website

Well after a long week working on it, we are almost ready to launch the new look heateasy website. This is going to feature most of the products designed for heating from cooleasy. However it is also going to feature some new gems which we will be expaning our product range with. All of the news will be kept in the same place so updates from coolesay and heateasy will both get posted in this blog. We are hoping to try and reduce some of the mis-understandings about air conditioning by launching this website.

A lot of people think that air conditioning units will only do cooling, heat pumps are just for connecting up to your hot water system, air conditioning is expensive to run, heat pumps don’t work unless they are ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps only work with underfloor heating and not radiators.

All of the above statements are of course untrue.

Heateasy will be fully launched tomorrow, to take a look around, currently we have only listed a fraction of what we eventually hope to be on there, we are currently looking at the best suppliers to get hold of heat curtains, panel heaters, fan heaters, electric radiators, hot water cylinders, underfloor heating kits etc etc We are trying to keep costs down, however as always we will never comprimise on service or quality.

I don’t know about anywhere else in the country but down here in Wales, it has been miserable over the last few days, as i drove from Swansea to Cardiff last night, it was wet, windy, cold and dark (to be fair it was night-time in winter, the dark couldn’t really be helped) but overall this winter is looking like its going to be a miserable one! We can’t promise to fix the winter blues and we certainly can’t fix the weather for you, but what we can do is try to make the miserable weather a bit more tolerable.

Over the next few weeks we will be launching a new website, dedicated to our new range of heat pumps, but that will be a surprise when it is unveiled. For now though we are proud to announce our new range of dehumidifiers. We have teamed up with long-standing British company Meaco, who have specialised in Dehumidification products for the last 20 years. They have an exciting new range of products coming into stock over the next couple of weeks but we are currently taking pre-orders for them now.

They include a 10l Domestic Dehumidifier and a 20l Domestic Dehumidifier which are coming in at a very competitive £109 and £159 respectively. The best new product in the new range, in my opinion, is their new 8l Desiccant Dehumidifier This is priced for a limited time at £159, the same as the also fantastic 7l desiccant dehumidifier we have available the DD-122 The new 8l Desiccant dehumidifier we have available though features a power saving mode, this will turn off the units fan once the room has reached the desired humidity and will turn itself back on after 30 minutes to check the humidity of the room, if it needs to keep on running it will do so, if not then it will turn off for another half an hour and check again. This basically means that when it is not working as a dehumidifier it will be on for a total of 10 minutes in every hour, saving you a great deal of electric.

These units will be available for dispatch the week starting the 31st of October. So get your pre-orders in now to make sure you get one as soon as possible.

Well after last weekends run of beautiful weather it looks like its time for another cold wet and windy winter. With some people predicting snow before the end of October, we can only hope that the weather is going to hold off until at least the end of December! For now though, rather than worry about the cold, down here in Wales at least it has been on and off rain for the past few days, making it quite unpleasant and damp inside. Luckily we are fully stocked up on our range of dehumidifier ready for next day dispatch. Take a look at the Eco Air DD122 Dehumidifier which is one of the best priced Desiccant dehumidifier available on the market.

In other news, we did a show in Earls Court last weekend, there were a lot of enthusiastic people at the show, and we got to speak to plenty of people with very exciting ideas and how they could work our units into their homes. Still a lot of people unaware that air conditioning units also work as heat pumps and will warm a room up in the winter as well as cool it down in the summer. Hopefully we will be starting a marketing campaign to try to raise awareness of this over the coming months. Anyone who came down to meet us at the show is welcome to send us a message to get some more information about any of the products we had on show and also anything that we talked about at the show.

Keep a carefull eye on our products over the next couple of months, we are planning on launching some new ranges of air to water heat pumps, some inverter driven ones and a new idea of system which will keep all of the heat inside the house. Any updates will of course be mentioned in our news feed so keep an eye out for any new details!

We have got quite a bit of a big update today related to the training courses, something which will benefit any air conditioning engineer looking to qualify to the new F-Gas Regulations.

We have slashed the prices of our Training courses until the end of October. We are hoping this will encourage engineers to come through the centre and get working within the scope of the law again. The reduced rate applies to any bookings made before the end of October, even for courses being taken later in the year or at the start of next year.

We are also now running a 2 day course rather than the 3 day course, meaning a reduction in price and a reduction in time taken away from your busy work schedules. We are also able to run this course over the weekend for anyone who just simply cannot take any time out of their working week. If you call us on 01656 662073 and ask for Kevin, he will be happy to talk to you about any of the training services we can offer, unless he’s running a course at that moment in time!

Another 2 big updates, we are pleased to announce that we have partnered up with big refrigeration equipment suppliers – Testo and Vulcan. We will be available to sell any Testo or Vulcan equipment to anyone, however we will be giving candidates that have come through our training centre an extra discount, in addition to the discount they already receive on JAVAC equipment and any of the air conditioning systems that we sell.

Testo Manifolds are widely regarded as the best digital manifolds available on the market, rugged in design and packed full of features, including a built-in vacuum gauge and thermometer. There are far too many features to list here, but if you would like them all please get in touch at sales@cooleasy.co.uk and we will be happy to send you the full product data-sheets for any of the Testo products.

The Vulcan Lockring system has quickly become the prefered method of joining copper pipes together for professional air conditioning engineers, they completely remove the need for a hotworks permit on any sites, reduce the chance of any leaks and provide a long-lasting mechanical joint which has been tested up to such high pressures that the copper pipe gave way before the join did. We are putting together a complete starter kit for anyone who comes through the training centre, including the jaws and a box full of connectors to get you started.

If you do have any questions about any of the things you have read above, would like to book yourself onto a training course or simply want to have a chat about the best way to make your way into the air conditioning industry then please call today on 0800 458 0101 or 01656 662073 from a mobile and we are always happy to help.
